Joel
Joel recently joined a local competitive team but has significant time constraints as the sole caretaker for two children. One is five months old! He'd like to do well in the PA-USATF Road Grand Prix, even though he can only run one day a week. A couple of marathons await in the distance as well.
In the short term, he's training for the Christmas relays. This race is way more competitive than it sounds! Some of the fastest club runners line up to run around Lake Merced in San Francisco.
We'll make sure to pack a punch when it comes to Joel's Sunday runs, and during the week, we'll design at-home workouts that help with power. Who says you have to constantly run to get fast? There are other ways! And who knows, maybe one day Joel will even have access to a treadmill.
But for now, we wish him the best, because what matters most in running is the life around it, and Joel is choosing his children—every day. Hats off, Joel!
