Elizabeth's knee pain is in the past! So what's next? A marathon! Elizabeth is already a speedy gazelle 💨 and would like to qualify for Boston somewhere down the road. Importantly, she'd like to do it without her knee acting back up. After being cleared by PT, we're in good shape to start training, and we'll pay specific attention to the things that could have brought this on.
I'm still working on Elizabeth's injury analysis, but two things have stood out so far: 1) doing almost all miles moderately fast and almost nothing easy; and 2) doing back-to-back long runs regularly. I think creating an 80/20 balance of easy to hard efforts while avoiding two hard days in a row will do some good things here!
This introduction of recovery will also allow us to do some real speedwork, which isn't an ingredient so far in Elizabeth's training. I see some great potential for a Boston Qualifier in the future here!
